Cosmetic dentistry is designed to give you the perfect 21st Century smile. Carrying out dental work in our hi-tech surgery, we have the skills and the technology to give you what you want.
Here at Dentistry @ Oceana Boulevard our qualified dentists carry out tooth whitening to give our patients back their gleaming smile. Teeth can become stained over time by bacterial pigments, food and tobacco so we aim to reverse the damage.
Power bleaching uses light energy to accelerate the process of bleaching in a dental surgery.
The effects of bleaching can last for a long period of time and can be topped up using the at home whitening technique but may vary depending on the lifestyle of the patient.
Factors that decrease the success of whitening over time include smoking and dark coloured liquids such as coffee, tea and red wine.
Put the sparkle back in your smile with cosmetic dental treatments.
At home whitening can be done in two ways, either by applying bleaching gel to the teeth using thin guard trays or by applying small strips that go over the front teeth.
Oxidising agents such as hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide are used to lighten the tooth by penetrating the porosities in the enamel structure and by oxidising inner-prismatic stain deposits. Over a period of time the dentin layer underneath the enamel is also bleached.

Internal staining of dentine can discolour the teeth from inside out, which can be treated with internal bleaching. If heavy staining or tetracycline damage is present on a patient's teeth, and whitening is ineffective, there are other methods of whitening teeth.
Bonding, when a thin coating of composite material is applied to the front of a person's teeth and then cured with a blue light can be performed to mask the staining.
A veneer can also mask tooth discolouration.
Taking cosmetic dentistry to the level of aesthetic dentistry is a combination of art and science, which embraces all dental treatment disciplines. When patients wish to achieve the best possible results without compromise, then aesthetic appearance, functionality and biological considerations all combine to achieve each patient's specific requirements.
Aesthetic dentistry then comes into its own, enhancing your appearance and making the result as near to perfect as feasibly possible. Techniques such as soft tissue grafting, guided bone regeneration, block bone grafts and crown lengthening, can make the difference. There are only a few clinics in the UK with the expertise and knowledge to provide this standard of dentistry, and our experts will be able to make sure that you achieve the oral health and comfort that is your right to have.
The kits used in our surgery are from the popular wy10 range.
